Eraserhead Star Jack Film And Theatre Actor


Eraserhead Star Jack was an US actor accomplished both in the theatre and in the movies. Marvin John Nance was popularly known as Jack Nance or John Nance. He was an authority in character acting. His professional career had been a glorious one due to the association with some of the stalwarts of the film and the stage that include names like David Lynch.

Eraserhead Star Jack was born on 21 December, 1943 in Boston, Massachusetts. His upbringing was done in Dallas, Texas. There he completed his graduation from the South Oak Cliff High School. The onus of the CEO post of Neiman Marcus was on his father.

Eraserhead Star Jack Before making a serious venture into the silver screen, Jack was involved with the American Conservatory Theatre based on San Francisco. In the '70s, Jack chanced to meet David Lynch, the off-beat film-maker who was at that time looking for the cast of his first feature film 'Eraserhaed'. Then Jack was married to Catherine E. Coulson who also happened to be an actress.

Eraserhaed Star Jack later divorced Catherine in 1976 and in the final years of his life had a seven month long marital relationship with Kelly Jean Van Dyke before she committed suicide. 'Eraserhead' was a dream break one could have after some let-downs with the movies like 'Fools' and 'Jumpa aka Fury on Wheels'. 'Eraserhead' not only established Lynch as a movie-maker with new dimensions but also acted as a testimony of Jack's acting caliber. This horror movie has now been recognized as a cult film for its cultural significance and offering new genre and cinematic visions.

Eraserhead Star Jack did many projects with David Lynch. This collaboration not only gave Jack creative satisfaction but it also proved healthy for the filmdom as a whole. His roles in the Lynch films include, Captain Nefud in Dune (1984), Paul in 'Blue Velvet (1986), cowboy Pet in 'The Cowboy and the Frenchman (1988), Pete Martell in 'Twin Peaks (1990-1991). Besides that he also acted in the movies such as Colors (1988), the sci-fi thriller 'The Blob (1988).

Eraserhead Star Jack did appear in some of the TV shows such as 'Weekend', 'Tricks of the Trade'( 1988), 'Another Midnight Run( 1994) etc and did one episode in the serials such as 'Crime Story' and 'My So-Called Life'.

Eraserhead Star Jack died on 30 December, 1996. The exact reason of his demise has still been shrouded under mystery. He died in South Pasadena, California. It was said that on the previous day, he was involved in a punch-up outside a Winchell's Donuts. But the investigation got one thing clear and that is he was drunk during the time of death.
