On Earth, Lake Baikal is the largest fresh water lake in terms of volume. It is situated in Siberia, Russia. Lake Baikal is also the oldest and deepest fresh water lake of the world. El Zacaton Cenote Deepest Water Field Sinkhole
El Zacaton Cenote is the deepest water filed sinkhole in the world. It is actually a vertical cave the width of which is about 100 meters or 328 feet. The depth of the cave is more than three hundred meters or one thousand feet. For this large depth, this sinkhole has been called an upside down Mount Everest. Its depth is such high that it can easily swallow the Chrysler building situated in New York. However, the true depth of this sinkhole is yet unknown as no one has ever reached the bottom of this sinkhole.

Erie Canal Connecting Hudson River And Lake Erie
Erie Canal is a canal in New York State and it runs from the Hudson River to Lake Erie. The canal links the Great Lakes with the Atlantic Ocean. It was opened on October 26, 1825. The canal was 363 miles long; 40 feet wide; and 4 feet deep. There used to be a total of 83 locks along the canal. It became a faster transport route than the cart-pulled route between the Eastern Seaboard and the western interior. The Erie Canal caused a big influx in western New York.

Lake Winnipesaukee, the largest lake in New Hampshire, has around 253 small islands( Center Harbor, Stonedam Island, Lockes Island etc). The lake is also indented by number of peninsulas, covering a shoreline of 288 miles. It is 21 miles long and 1 to 9 miles wide. It has a depth of 212 feet and situated 504 feet above the sea-level. The lake also happens to be the third largest lake in New England, USA.
