Serendipity is a beautiful romantic film about a young couple. The film was released in the year 2001. The film was written by Marc Klein and was directed by Peter Chelsom. In the film, Serendipity, the two central characters Jonathan Trager and Sara Thomas meet while shopping in New York in the winter season. They both try to buy the same pair of gloves for their respective lovers for Christmas. These two strangers paths collide in the mad rush of holiday season and they both feel magic for each other.

Serendipity then moves on with both Trager and Sara spending the evening together, traveling Manhattan despite each being involved in other relationships. When the magic night comes to an end, Jon wants to exchange the phone numbers but Sara backs out as she is not sure about the fate of their love. She suggests that they should split and allow fate to take control and if they are meant to be together, fate and destiny will bring them back to each other.

The film, Serendipity then takes a leap of 7 years. Both Jon and Sara are engaged to be married. Just before their marriage, each one of them wants to give fate another chance to reunite them. Jon takes help of his best man to find Sara, whom he is unable to forget till day. He starts his search with the store where they had first met. Meanwhile, Sara also flies down from California to New York with her best friend in search of Jon.

The film Serendipity then takes a new turn, where several coincidences and confusions lead the two soulmates close to meeting a number of times but not quite meet. The film finally ends up with the two meeting up and living happily ever after. The film was well accepted by the audience on its release. It was marked as a refreshing and charming film.
