Stanford Volleyball Mens Club

Jorge Caballero and Paul Kreiner established Stanford Volleyball Mens club in 2005 with a motto to provide talented non-varsity athletes an opportunity to compete beyond the intramural level. The team mainly represents Stanford both in the Northern California Collegiate Volleyball League, as well as the annual NIRSA Club Volleyball National Championships.

The competition level for Stanford Volleyball club is quite high as Stanford is the only true club team in the NCCVL. No other schools in the league have an NCAA men's volleyball program. All the admitted students of undergraduate and graduate are eligible to play.

The fund for Stanford Volleyball Mens club is raised from a variety of sources including membership dues, the ASSU, and fundraising efforts. The annual budget comes in excess of $10,000, from funds travel, tournament fees, equipment, hiring referees, and our annual trip to Nationals.

Approximately 20% fund of Stanford Volleyball club is provided by the Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU). The remaining 80% is drawn from player dues and extensive fundraising efforts that includes staffing Women's Varsity Volleyball matches, working school-wide events such as Homecoming Weekend, Commencement, and Parents' Weekend, and letter writing for The Stanford Fund.

Stanford Volleyball Clubs team practice is generally followed regularly by the opening of the gym time. But due to the fall season, practices are held on every Tuesday and Thursday from 8 to 10pm in Burnham Pavilion. Some remarkable team members of 2007-2008 Team Rosters are George Margulis, Matthew Hill, Troy Ramos and may more in the series.

The try-outs are held on Saturday, October 6th from 4-7 PM in the Ford Center adjoining Burnham Pavilion. The players of Stanford Volleyball Mens Clubs are asked to bring their SUID for gym entrance, and a small wallet sized photo of themselves to help the authority put faces and names together. If the player fails to attend the tryouts they are asked to come to Thursday's open gym and put the information that they won't be there on Saturday.

The schedule for 2008 of the Stanford Volleyball Men's Club Team competition is displayed in the map. Efforts are made hard to keep this schedule active. Typically, the home matches are played in either San Diego Gym in the Ford Center, or in the adjoining Burnham Pavilion gym. The competitions date, time, location and opponent name are provided in the map and the results are posted on the NCCVL site. Clubvolleyballdex
