Agent Cody Banks Action Film

Agent Cody Banks is a film released in 2003 and is about the adventures of a teenager, Cody Banks who is an undercover agent of CIA. The film stars Frankie Muniz as Cody and is supported by Hilary Duff, Angie Harmon, Keith David, Ian McShane, and Arnold Vosloo. The film is directed by Harald Zwart.

Agent Cody Banks was the first major film of Hilary Duff apart from Lizzie McGuire and for Angie Harmontoo, this was a major break in films. The original screenplay was by Mike Porter who worked for five years on the plot before finalizing it and the role of Cody was to be played by David Schwimmer. It all changed when Porter sold the script. The present script is written by Ashley Miller, Zack Stentz, Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski.

Agent Cody Banks is about a 15 year old boy, Cody banks, who is an applicant in the junior position in the CIA. He gets the training in a CIA training camp disguised as a summer camp. Then Cody is called to go on a mission to find out a scientist, Dr. Connors, played by Martin Donovan. This scientist works for an organization called ERIS and is run by an evil person, Dr. Brinkman (Ian McShane) helped by his henchman Francois Molay, played by Arnold Vosloo.

Agent Cody Banks takes the route of finding the scientist through his daughter, Natalie Connors. But when he goes there he finds that he is not at all socially apt regarding dealing with girls and the task gets more difficult with his regular household chores and homework suffering. He finds it difficult to balance all these together. The CIA steps in and does the household work and his homework to raise his status in school.

Finally, Agent Cody Banks gets invitation from Natalie for her 16th birthday celebration and Cody gets a chance to get into his fathers lab. There he sneaks into the lab and finds that Dr. Brinkman is trying to develop nanobots which are able to destroy any carbon or silicon based objects. The evil doctor wants to use these against the defense systems that oppose him. The nanobots, being inactive in the cold, are planned to be distributed through ice-cubes. Cody then makes the great mistake by telling everything to Natalie who in turn is kidnapped by Brinkmans men and CIA scraps Cody from the project.

In spite of detention by his parents for coming home late, Agent Cody Banks goes out to rescue Natalie. He steals a rocket powered snowboard from the CIA weapons store and zooms on to his mission. On the way he is joined by agent Ronica and the duo finds that Natalie is held a hostage to force her father to program the nanobots to destroy the world. After some action Natalie and Dr. Connors is saved while Dr. Brinkman perishes. Wikipedia
