
Matt Laporta / Matthew Vincent Laporta, is recognized to be the left fielder for the Milwaukee Brewers Organization. He was born on 8thJan, 1985 in Port Charlotte, Florida. Presently he is in Mesa Solar Sox, his number is 26. He has been a part of Minor League Baseball and Arizona Fall League.

He has in his career received two awards: 2005 and 2007- SEC player of the year. He was drafted 7th (round 1), overall by the Milwaukee Brewers (2007). In his early life Matt Laporta studied at Charlotte High School. He was selected for amateur baseball draft, by Chicago Cubs in 2003. Instead he preferred to play the game at the University of Florida. He earned great honor, All American Honor as he really worked hard to make his team reach the 2005 College World Series Final.
The bad period came for Matt Laporta in 2006 when his batting speed dropped to 259 from 328. He and his team really suffered and tried to strive. In 2006 he was drafted by Major League Baseball Draft by Boston Red Sox (14th round) but still he believed that he should continue at Florida for his senior year.
His team was still facing difficulties but out of the color he was again the All American Nod. In his senior year his batting speed was at .402 and 20 home runs along with the Gators. When Matt Laporta was drafted by Milwaukee Brewers in 2007, he got a signing bonus of about $2million. They signed the contract on 25thJune after which he was designated to the Brewers Rookie League Affiliate-Helena Brewers.
He is considered to be almost the first baseman at the professional level. Matt Laporta stroked a Home Run at the very first shot, during the 2007 match. At Helena he played around 7games at left field just as a dedicated hitter. In August he was promoted to Brewers A-West Virgina Power. He played really well with 10 home runs in 23games. They won over South Atlantic League Play-offs and move ahead but unfortunately couldnt beat Columbus Catfist. Further Matt was shifted to Arizona Fall League and played excellently with Mesa Solar Sox (his current team).
