Richmond Spiders means the University of Richmond; it is a member of the NCAAs division and even the Atlantic 10 conference. Its Athletic director is Jim Miller and is located in Richmond, VA. It has about 19 varsities. Its symbol is of a spider naming Richard Spiders.
The official mascot of Richmond Spiders is Spider. It has been nicknamed as spiders. Its colors are Richmond Red and Richmond Blue and Spider Blue. The Universitys stadium has been providing accommodations for the spiders football from 1929, the stadium is at few miles from the campus. But now they are planning to build it on campus First Market Stadium for soccer, lacrosse, track and other field programs and even football.
Richmond Spiders Robins Center Arena is designated to serve basketball program (men and women) and for Natatorium, womens swimming and diving and other events too. His varsity sports included: basketball for both men and women. The Spiders Cross Country and Track and Field Teams for men is coached by Steve Taylor under him the team stood 4th in the Atlantic10 cross country, 7th in indoor and 10th in outdoor.
The women team is coached by Lori Taylor under her the team stood 2nd in the cross country, indoor and outdoor. Further Richmond Spiders varsity has Baseball that stood 3rd in 2007 in both the Atlantic10 and regular season. Field Hockey- this women hockey team stood 5th in straight Atlantic10 championship with a record of 17-5. After that comes the Richmond Spiders football team.
After football comes the golf for men and women. The mens coach is Adam Decker the team came 4th in the 2007 Atlantic10 championship. The women too stood 4th. The program started in 2002 and its current coach is Leighann Rastede Albaugh. Richmond Spiders varsity has some more programs like womens lacrosse, men soccer, womens soccer, womens swimming and diving and tennis for both men and women.
Richmond Spiders club sports comprises of mens lacrosse coached by Fred Plaisted, Ice Hockey for men and lastly The University of Richmonds mens rugby union team. Apart from these it also includes womens tennis, swimming and diving.
