Karen Corr Professional Pool Player

Nicknamed as the Irish Invader, Karen Corr is the professional pool player. She is currently ranked as the #2, woman pool player in the world by the Women's Professional Billiard Association (WPBA). She was born on 10Th November 1969, in Ballymoney, North Island.

Karen Corr moved to England with her parents at the age of eight. She joined a club there and started her career in snooker, when she was fourteen. She won her first Ladies Championship in England, when she was only fifteen years old. She went on to win the additional world titles in the years 1991, 1995 and 1997. Although she was a world champion, she had to do odd jobs to support herself financially. She did various jobs like bartending so that she could play professionally.

In the year 1997, Karen Corr went on a exhibition tour to New Zealand with her friend, Julie Kelly. Their they decided to play pool in the off-season in U.S. Karen moved to U.S. in the year 1998. Two years later, she won her first WPBA Classic Tour title in the year 2000. The year proved to be very successful for her career and by the end of the year 2001, she was ranked as the #1 player. In that year she also won the All Japan Open Championship in Osaka, Japan and came 2Nd in WPA Women's World Championship and the UCC World Ladies Championship in Tokyo, Japan.

In the year 2001, Karen Corr became the first player to win all the 6 WPBA Classic tour events. She also won the silver medal at the World Games and was placed 2nd at the World Championship. In the year 2002, she continued her winning spree and maintained her #1 ranking. The next year 2003. also proved to be a very great year for Karen. She became the only woman to win an event on the Joss tour- the Joss North East 9-Ball Men's Tour event. She was also a part of the winning European team in World Team in Taiwan.

Karen Corr's winning streak continued in the year 2004, but in 2005, she slipped to the 2nd place. She made a wonderful comeback in the year 2006 and won all the 3 WPBA events and was being touted as one of the hottest player on the WPBA tour.
