Nancy Lieberman Dallas Diamonds Player

Born on July 1st, 1958 Nancy Lieberman is well known as a professional basketball player. Her career took a turn in 1974, when she was still at school and successfully established herself as one of top basketball players of her country. Her impact in the womens basketball is immeasurable.

Nancy Lieberman was fondly called Lady Magic by the media, when she played for the Old Dominion. It was through her guidance and leadership that the Lady Monarch teams collected an astounding 72-2 record, during her many championship seasons.

Nancy Lieberman became one of the top basketball players of the nation, by earning, 12 slots in the USA National Team. In the years that followed, she had many achievements especially in the Pan American Games. She won a golden medal in 1975 and silver medal in 1979.Just at the tender age of seventeen she became a part of the basketball team for women, and competed at the Montreal Games. She was the youngest basketball player in the Olympic history who won a medal.

Nancy Lieberman has a successful career. She won many championships in her career that included AIAW National Championships (1979, 1980) and one NWIT (Women's National Invitation Tournament) Championship in 1978.She also won the popular Wade Trophy.This is national award, for the player of the year in the college basketball. She was also the recipient of Broderick Award, as the top womens player of the world. She won three successful awards, in 1978, 79, and 80-The Kodak All America Awards.

She played for several basketball teams and leagues in her career.Thwe popular teams for which she played included Dallas Diamonds of the Women's Pro Basketball League (WBL) and Washington Generals. Nancy Lieberman was also a part of the United States Basketball League (USBL) where she played some important games.

She was one of the six young adults who won the Young America Awards from the Boy Scouts OF America in 1980.It was in the same year, that she was chosen in the Olympic team.However Nancy Liberman, withdrew from the team, as a gesture to support the US President Jim Carters boycott for the 1980s Summer Olympics in Moscow.
