Scott Brazil Emmy Award Winning Director


Born on 12th May 1955 in Sacramento County, Scott Brazil had his home adjacent to 40th Avenue in the south Land Park Hills districts between Annrud Way and 14th Street. Since his early days Scott had cherished a dream of becoming a television producer and director someday.

Scott Brazil earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Annenberg School of Journalism. He is a graduate from the University of Southern California. He carried out extensive study during the years of his graduation and learned the art of production and direction. He was looking for an opportunity to establish himself as a director but he had to wait for a couple of years to fulfill his desire.

In 1985 and 1986, Scott Brazil was nominated for the Emmys. He was adjudicated for Golden Globes too in 1984 and 1985. It is his versatile acting capability that earned him higher acclamation. He performed brilliantly on fifty-four episodes of the Hill Street Blues.

Hill Street Blues proved an important milestone in Scott Brazils career as a good actor. High street Blues is a Police Drama that was at first telecast on NBC in 1981. It ran on the primetime Network as the viewers favorite and was at first scheduled for 146 episodes in its very first run.

Scott Brazil directed eleven episodes of The Shield from its premiere in 2002. He shares in the shows 2003 Golden Globe Award as a producer in the best drama category. Scott directed episodes of Greys Anatomy, three episodes of JAG, two episodes of Nip and Tuck, Miami, LAX, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Nash Bridges.

Scott Brazil won Emmy Awards for his outstanding performances in Drama Series for two consecutive years in 1983 and 1984. He also clinched Golden Globe Award from a host of contenders for his exceptional work on Hill Street Blues in 1983.

Scott Brazil worked as co-executive producer for Cracker, Gideons Crossing and LA Doctors. He was also a member of the Directors Guild of America and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Directors Guild of America is the union formed for protecting the rights of the film and TV Directors who belong to the fraternity of the United States Motion Pictures. At the age of fifty, Brazil died due to respiratory trouble from complications of ALS and Lyme disease. Wikipedia
