Buddhism Origin Quest For Bliss And Knowledge


Buddhism is one of the earliest religions of the world which had a very humble origin. It was established in the 6th century B.C. the religion grew by rejecting some of the concepts of Hinduism which dominated the times. The religion has evolved adapting to the various cultures and societies of the world and the nations that came across the religion. It has become a world religion and survived to the 21st century.

Connie Stevens, with the three vocalists of much adored The Letterman, formed a group called The Foremost. Stevens moved to Los Angeles, with her father and joined a singing group The Three Debs. In Georgia Masseys School of song and Dance, she was admitted for better training. After that she used to sing in a local theatre group. For her unprofessional behavior she was dismissed from The Three Debs.

Connie Stevens started to work as a movie extra. She appeared in 4 B-movies and drew the attention of Jerry Lewis who cast her in the film Rock-A-Bye Baby. She signed a contract with Warner Brothers. Her role of Cricket Blake in popular Television detective series, Hawaiian Eye from 1959-1962, made her well-known. Elvis Priestly personally felt interested to meet her. He invited her to dinner and the two remain lifelong friend.

Connie Stevens has acted in many films. Some are Young and Dangerous(1957), The Party Crashers(1961), Susan Slade(1961), Palm Springs Weekend(1963), Two on a Guillotine(1965), Never Too Late(1965), ;Way…Way Out(1966), The Last Generation(1971), Scorchy(1976), Grease 2(1982), Returning Mickey Stem(2002), etc. Television works of Connie Stevens are Hawaiian Eye, The Littlest Angel, Mister Jerico, The Muppet Show(1972), The Sex Symbol(1974), Loves Savage Fury(1979), James Dean: Race with Destiny(1997), Becoming Dick(2000).

Connie Stevens, in her first album entitled Conceta (1958), did not a get very good response. She has minor hits with the songs Blame It on My Youth, Looking for a Boy, and Spring is here. In the comedy episode of TV series Maverick entitled Two Tickets to Ten Strike, Stevens appeared opposite of James Garner. She had made several appearances in Warner Bros. hit TV series 77 Sunset Strip. She recorded her hit novelty song Kookie Kookie, Lend Me Your Comb- a duet with James Garner. She also recorded hit singlesSixteen Reasons, Whyd You Wanna Make Me Cry, Mr. Songwriter and Now That You Have Gone

Connie Stevens charitable work included the foundation of the Windfeather project to award scholarship to Native American Indians. She received the Lady of Humanities Award from Shrines Hospital and the Humanitarian of the Year Award by the Sons of Italy in Washington, DC. She has her own cosmetic product line. In 1997, she directed, wrote and edited a documentary about Red Cross nurses who served during the Vietnam War. It won the Best Film Award at Santa Clarita International Film Festival.
