Brendan Miller Director Of Permaculture Credit Union


Brendan Miller is currently working as a project manager with a company in New Mexico, known as SG Properties, which includes overseeing the development of Plaza Contenta in Santa Fe. This is a pedestrian-oriented, infill retail and office space development that provides public space and serves the surrounding area. He is working as a partner with the Wonderland Hill Development Company at the Galisteo Basin Preserve (a project of the Commonweal Conservancy just outside of Santa Fe) to create a cohousing neighborhood.

Brendan Miller serves as a director in the board of the Permaculture Credit Union, where his motto is to increase the lending capacity of the Credit Union and ensure that it will continue to provide environmentally responsible and innovative loans that other lending institutions cannot or will not provide. He also acted as an assistant development manager, prior to his work in New Mexico, on the Sawyer Hill Cohousing development in Berlin, MA.

Brendan Miller works as a real estate developer, broker and project manager promoting homes, development projects and land use policies. He specializes in Green Homes (homes that conserve energy, water and other natural resources), Mixed-Use Urban Infill Development, Transit Oriented Development –projects centered around Rail Runner and other public transit stations), Conservation Development projects.

Brendan Miller also has many years of experience with community process, facilitation, and training in a variety of settings including the Boston Foundation, City Year, and New Leaders for New Schools. He was a founding partner of The Meristem Group. He also acted as a volunteer coordinator than as AmeriCorps Leader for two years in AmericaCorps.

Brendan Miller has a business degree from the institute known as MIT Sloan School of Management and also has a degree of public policy form Harvards Kennedy School of Government. He is very much familiar with the practice and theory of smart growth, community, sustainability, housing and land use policies. He works on a broad range of clients and stakeholders. He has also worked as a project manager on multi-family cohousing in the city of Massachusetts and on a mixed-use infill project in New Mexico, among other projects.

While Brendan Miller was a graduate student, he studied democratic theory, leadership and negotiation techniques, urban policy, system thinking, urban policy, real estate, affordable housing, and general management. He has also made an effort for the Democratic Development, which means the rebuilding of our democracy through the rebuilding of our communities. There were certain objective underlying this such as redeveloping our cities, suburbs and towns, stimulating democratic innovation.
