Bayou Bowl An All Star Game

Bayou Bowl is an all star game, played between Texas and Louisiana. All the players are graduate players. The Bayou Bowl originated in the year 2002. The master mind behind this idea was of the director of the Baytown/west Chamber Country Economic development Foundation, the president of the Baytown Chamber of Commerce, the incoming chair of the Greater Houston Football Coaches Association.

The Greater Houston Football Coaches Association is an organization that hires high school and Junior high school coaches. The membership fees and donations are its main source of income. This group plays a great part in the success of Bayou Bowl. The associations motto is to promote the spirit of Football and professionalism among coaches.
In 2004 the Bayou Bowls spectators number turned to 8000 and so it decided to do some charity. The game were/are played with the motive of doing some charity. It got affiliated to Shriners Hospitals for children. In 2005 the game generated $29000; all this money went for the benefit of Shriners Hospital, the 2006 game contributed $35000.
Bayou Bowl is financially dependent. Its major source comes from donations, advertisements/sponsorships, golf tournaments, T-shirt sales, Cheerleading Clinic, Ticket sales. All the star games are played in a stadium that is taken on lease. The government has stated Bayou Bowl at the level 501C3. All its game is televised by Fox Sports Net Southwest.
Bayou Bowl is helped by many people. There are around seven groups that take active part in the promotion of Bayou Bowl. The seven groups are: The Greater Houston Football Coaches Association, Louisiana Athletics (2003) and Louisiana Coaches association (04, 05, 06), Baytown Area/west Chambers Country Economic development foundation, Baytown Chamber of Commerce, Harris Country Houston Sports authority, city of Baytown and Houston/Galveston area Shriners.
A steering committee was formed where the work were assigned to people accordingly. The committees head is Pete Alfaro (the former Mayor). The Bayou Bowl is held not only to promote high school football but even to promote the city Baytown, the Houston Area and the state of Lousiana. It even fosters a positive economic and social development. The member of the steering committee works hard to make Bayou Bowl a great success and expects to help Shriners with more funds in the coming years.Bayoubowl
