Colleen Haskell was born on 6th Dec, 1976 to John (father), a director of support systems for Geico Insurance, and Patricia (mother), a career counselor in Bethesda. Haskell used to study in a girls school at Connolly School of the Holy Child in Potomac. Later she attended Walter Johnson High in Bethesda Maryland, and graduated in the year 1994. Colleen Haskell took admission at the University of Georgia in Athens, and so studied abroad in London, after which she went to England and did her intern with the London Film Festival.

Her parents say that her first love at school was behind the scenes of theater. She finished her graduation in 1998 and moved to Ghana, West Africa for 2months from there she traveled to France for 2months.
