American business tycoon Arthur Blank is well known as the co-founder of Home Depot. Home depot is listed at NYSE, under company ticker HD. It is an American retailer of the Home improvement materials that are chiefly needed for the construction purposes and allied services.

Arthur Blank apart from being a well-known businessman is known for his Philanthropic practices. He is also known as the owner of the Atlanta Falcons Sports team of Georgia who are a member of the NFC South National Football Conference who joined the National Football League as a 1966 expansion team. He was also a part of the Georgia Force team based in Duluth who plays for the Southern Division of National Conference.

Arthur Blank was born on 27th September 1942 and spend his early days at Flushing in New York. In his family he had his father Max, mother Molly and an elder brother Michael. He went to receive his formal lessons from the Stuyvesant High School in New York City and later he went to the Babson College.

At Babson College, Arthur Blank completed his education with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, in 1963. After he completed his formal College Education, Arthur got employed at the Handy Dan Hardware Company and graduated his post to that of a Regional Manager. But as his wavelength did not match with that of the other company executives, a disagreement followed and he was gradually released from his job in 1978.
But he did not waste his time and in the same year, he set up the Home Depot Company along with Bernie Marcus who also had served at the Handy Dan Hardware Company. Together with the New York Investment Banker Ken Langone, to head after investments they introduced the highly successful home-improvement retail shop in 1979. Arthur Blank was the mastermind behind the improvement of home enhancement system along with Warehouse storage as a completely new concept.
Arthur Blank has served as a Chief Financial Officer in the company for over 19 years and gradually he took over the prestigious position of being the CEO, succeeding Marcus. Ultimately he left the company as the Co-chairman in 2001. In February in the following year, Blank made became an owner of the Atlanta Falcons, which was earlier being headed by Taylor Smith.
At present, Arthur Blank supervises two football teams and he also acts as the Chairman, the President and the CEO of AMB Group of LLCs. He is also the supervisor of Arthur Blank Family Foundation.
