Every year 3rd of July most of the residents of Chicago, Illinois and even many people from abroad gather at the Lakefront at Navy Pier to get enchanted by the flashes and booms of the of the Chicago Fireworks. Its indeed a spectacular celebration of the eve of the Independence Day, the 4th of July. It involves a grand firework show of 20 minutes display containing more than 5,000 works across the globe.

It starts from the Memorial Day through the Labor Day. The Chicago Fireworks blends whole sky at Navy Pier remains filled with colors and the vibration of the melody of the bands like America the Beautiful, Bell of Chicago and not forget The Stars and Stripes Forever and others. The 2007 fireworks were also spectacular. It was presented by Pepsi and powered by B96 on Saturday evening from 10.15 p.m. Again on Wednesday evening it started on 9.15 p.m. the fireworks were presented by Pepsi and powered by Jack FM.

To make the Chicago Fireworks more memorable Chicago Traveler had also arranged a Chicago Fireworks Cruise. This gave the people a life time opportunity to observe the extravagant fireworks above their head while standing on the deck and getting mesmerized by the live bands. This was organized on the Lake Michigan. Again there were the worlds largest fireworks displays at approximately 9pm on July 4th. Four barges were stationed between 23rd and 42nd Streets in the East River. Each had a set off 20,000 aerial shells and special effects. There are electric set pieces on the barges, and the New York Fire Department gets in on the act with fire boats shooting red, clear, and blue water 300 feet over the river.

Though till now, no accidents have been reported.
