Antediluvian The Age Of Darkness In The Bible

Antediluvian as a term is derived from the Latin roots. The term is used to describe a specific time period that came before the great flood of Noah, as described in the Book of Genesis in Bible. The great flood of Noah came as destruction was taking place in the mythological civilization. The incident is best known is Bible as the story of Noah but it is also depicted in a number of other versions.

The Antediluvian period has been depicted invariably by authors like William Whiston and Henry Morris. According to these two exponents, during this time period, the people lived much longer than what the people of the present world do. The time period is between 700 and 950 years as it is found by the Genealogies of Genesis.

During the Antediluvian age, the earth had more people than what it used to have in 1696. Whiston made out that there were more than 500 million human beings during the age. This was based on the studies conducted on the rates of mortality and the rates of human propagation.

The period of Antediluvian, as it is found by the exponential texts, is believed to have no clouds and no rains. At that phase, Earth was watered by mists that used to form surrounding the Earth. It was also emphasized that Earth was covered with a global layer of clouds where the upper waters has been found in creation. This theory is believed to be the Canopy theory.

As found in Bible, the Antediluvian age speaks of being an age of great wickedness that professed the fall of man. The age had Gibborim or giants prevailing over the Earth along with Nephilim who were supernatural beings traveling on the surface of earth. The Gibborim were exceptionally powerful creatures who used to prevail on earth at that time.

More trivia about the Antediluvian age professes that the term is used figuratively to refer anything that is obsolete or out of mode. The metaphors have often been found commonly used in horror stories that depict sequences. In Vampire: The Masquerade, there are vampires that existed in their earlier forms.

The term Antediluvian also refers to describe the King of Atlantis. The reference is found in the song Atlantis as it is done by Donovan. The antediluvians were the original inhabitants of Atlantis but in other mythologies they have been grouped together as the Aditya, which had a strong resemblance to the Semitic Adites. There are other reminiscences that are found regarding Atlantis which is also known sometimes as Adlantis. Other derivations of the same are also found in certain other mythological references. References of the royal order of buffaloes are also found.Wikipedia
