Americas Next Top Model Winner Jaslene Gonzalez

Born in Puerto Rico in 1986 and raised in Illinios, Jaslene Gonzales was an online college admission advisor after graduating school. Jaslene won the crown of Americas Next Top Model Winner on 16th May 2007. It was like a dream come true for the, 20 year old girl. Before this she worked with local designers like Michelle Gomez and Alexis Arquette

Jaslene Gonzales participated in the 7th Season of the Americas Next Top Model Contest. But unfortunately was eliminated from the semifinals but she promised to reappear. It was in this 8th Season that she reappeared and won the crown of Americas Next Top Model Winner. Her zeal to win, self confidence and determination captured the attention of Tyra Banks, one of the judges. Tyra Banks could realize the potential inside this Illinois Latina girl.

After being the Americas Next Top Model Winner, she won a contract of $100,000 for representing the Elite Model Management. She was also selected to be the brand ambassador for Cover Girl Cosmetics. In her blossoming career she also got the opportunity to work with magazines like Tempo, US Weekly and In Touch Weekly. She also modeled for a dress designed by Elizabeth Hasselback in one of the talk shows called The View. She has won the title of LA Madrina in the Puerto Rico Parade of the year 2007.

Jaslene Gonzales also hosted some popular TV shows for Cover Girl TV like Summer Goddess and Jalenes Glamorous Nights. In the Mercedes-Benz Miami Fashion Week she modeled for Ashley Paige. This show was covered as a 4-page advertisement in the latest issue of the Vibe Vixen magazine. In 2007 Jaslene was nominated for 2007 Teen Choice Awards in the category of Choice TV: Female Realty / Variety Star. Several magazines like Latina, Seventeen, Hombre, Urban Latino has the Americas Next Top Model Winner in their cover pages.

Renee, Natasha and Jaslene were the three contenders of the final round. All of them were equally good. However it was Renee who was criticized and eliminated for looking older then the rest. Finally Jaslene Gonzales won the crown of Americas Next Top Model Winner. Many people criticized this controversial decision of the judges. However Jaslene was bold enough to face the controversy and proved to be the best.

Jaslene Gonzalez will soon enter the world of Hollywood through an independent film titled Miss Average. She says that she is keen to do the movie as its similar to her own lifes story.
