1983 George Strait Hit song Fire I Cant Put Out

George Harvey Strait, also known as King George is among the most popular Country singers in the US. According to the Billboard magazine George had at least one of his songs ranked in the top 5 hits of the year in the years 1983, 1984, 1990, 1991 and between 1995 and 2000. The 1983 George Strait Hit ranked 5th in the year end ranking by a popular magazine. This was the single A Fire I Can't Put Out. The hit paved the way for him to be recognized as the Billboard - Male Singles Artist of the Year 1983.

Strait born 18 May 1952 in Poteet, Texas was son of a schoolteacher. He dropped out of college to elope with his girlfriend, Norma, and then enlisted in the US Army where he started playing Country music. Back in college he found a band named Ace in the Hole. Strait moved on to Nashville, but did not have an easy break for a career in music. It is through his dedication and in born talent that he followed up his early disappointments with hits like A Fire Cant Put Out by the 1983 George Strait Hit.

Eventually, a club owner he had worked for, Erv Woolsey, who was working for MCA Records, signed him to the label and became his manager. In 1981, Strait's first single, Unwound, ranked 6th in the US country charts. From then on Strait did not have to look back. He rolled out hits like You Look So Good in Love, and the 1983 George Strait Hit A Fire I Can't Put Out.

George Straits music drew from both the 50s honky-tonk and the Western swing traditions. He uses twin fiddles and steel guitar and his idols were Merle Haggard and Lefty Frizzell. His works were renditions of these traditions in a more contemporary form in the 80s and inspired others like Randy Travis and Dwight Yoakam. The 1983 George Strait Hit A Fire I Can't Put Out was also exceptional.

The 1983 George Strait Hit A Fire I Can't Put Out was a ballad on past love. The music was composed by Darrell Staedtler. It was quite unlike other chart toppers of the year like Amarillo By Morning, ranked 4th in the year 1983. This includes the other songs of his hit 1983 album Right or Wrong, a true classic about a bull rider. It was perhaps closer to Marina Del Rey which was perhaps George's first hit slow ballad that ranked 6th in 1983.

The 1983 George Strait Hit A Fire I Can't Put Out single was later featured in collections like Strait from the Heart, The Very Best of George Strait 1981 – 1987, a Multi platinum collection which sold 3 million copies. Erin Hay, the so called queen of honky-tonk music, did a retake on the original song in her album The Circle in the year 2001 which became very popular as well. Amazon
