Tera Patrick was born as Linda Ann Hopkins on 25th July, 1976 in Montana to his English Jewish father and Thai mother. Her parents met in Vietnam during the Vietnam War but got separated when Tera was young as her mother got back to Thailand forever and her father moved with Tera to San Francisco. She was brought by her father alone.
A talent scout of Eileen Ford Modeling Agency in San Francisco discovered Tera Patrick and she got her first modeling contract at the age of thirteen. To continue with her career she shifted to New York and began her career as a catalog model. But after few years, when she was 18, she left modeling and joined Boise State University and underwent a degree in nursing and a BS in Microbiology.
Tera Patrick later joined University of California in Santa Barbara where she had to begin her career in modeling for some financial reasons. In the late 1990s, Tera started appearing in nude and soft-core features. She made it to the hard-core adult in Andrew Blake's Aroused in 2000 where she swallowed for the first time.

On January 9, 2004, Tera got married to Evan Seinfeld in a small ceremony in Las Vegas, after a 3-year courtship.
