General American is also known as the Standard Midwestern, the Standard Spoken American English or the English that is meant for American Broadcast. The language is spoken with an English accent that is mainly spoken by the Americans. The language is usually felt to be the most neutral in its spoken form and it comes completely free from the regional characteristics.

Edwin Hall American Physicist
Edwin Herbert Hall was an American Physicist who discovered the Hall Effect in 1879. He was born on 7th November in 1855 in Great Falls, Maine in U.S.A. he completed his under graduate work at Bowdoin College of Brunswick, Maine. He completed his graduation in 1875 and obtained a Ph.D. in the year 1880. He then did his graduate work at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He also performed his seminal experiments there. He conducted his thermoelectric research at Harvard and also had written numerous textbooks on physics and laboratory manuals. He died on 20th November in 1938 in Cambridge, Massachusetts in U.S.
