Melissa Sagemiller is a popular American TV and film actress. She was born on 1st June 1974, in Washington, District of Columbia, USA. She has acted in the movies like The Guardian, Mr. Woodstock, and Standing Still etc.

She was born into a political family. She opted for a more creative career. She started pursuing her dream of performing arts at a very young age of 3. At this early age she started to study various dance forms like jazz, tap, ballet and modern. Melissa Sagemiller made a stage debut at the tender age of nine as Dill in drama To Kill a Mockingbird. She had responded to an ad in the Washington Post and got the above role. After this performance she became a regular on the local DC stages.
Her modeling career started when she was spotted by Eileen Ford in a Manhattan Jewellery store. At that time she was only 14. She was swept to Paris to pursue a modeling career. Later she left Paris and followed her desire to attend The University of Virginia and lead a normal student life studying Art History. After completing her studies Melissa decided to return to full time acting. Melissa Sagemiller started studying acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory, NYUs Stonestreet Studio and the Michael Howard Studio.
She made her film debut in James Tobacks gritty film Black & White in the year 1999. She played an upper class white teen in Manhattan, who appropriate black hip hop culture. She made her TV debut by appearing in an episode of NYCs- filmed series Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Melissa Sagemiller returned to the silver screen with her first featured role in the movie Get over It in 2001.
She essayed the role of a girl who dumps her longtime loving boyfriend for an egoistic, faux-accented new boy on the block. Melissa brought a new dimension to the role and the audience loved her.
