Oxford Industries Inc is an American company that retails high-end clothing and apparel for men, women and children. Some of the most reputed brands it carries are Tommy Bahama, Indigo Palms, Oxford Golf and Tommy Hilfiger. The company has sales offices in many major locations of the world like London, Düsseldorf, New York City, Seattle and Hong Kong.

The range of menswear retailed by Oxford Industries includes dress shirts of both branded and private labels like Ben Sherman, Island Soft, Arnold Brant, Ely and Walker besides Tommy Bahama, Indigo Palms, Tommy Hilfiger and Oxford Golf. Other products of mens clothing include sports shirts, dress slacks, casual slacks, suits, sportcoats, suit separates, walkshorts, golf apparel, outerwear, jeans, sweaters, swimwear, footwear and headwear. The Oxford Menswear Group is the companys largest operating segment and comprises of almost 50% of the total sales.

The womenswear segment of Oxford Industries is relatively small and comprises of about 20% of their total sales. This line produces budget and moderately priced private label womens apparel for mass merchants and catalog retailers. The product portfolio of womenswear from Oxford Industries covers dresses, swimwear, coordinated sportswear, sportswear separates and outerwear. Other than these womens products like denims and accessories are also sold under the Tommy Bahama Group.

Oxford Industries also produces and sells casual attire in the lifestyle and branded lines. It other business interests like the operation of retail stores and restaurants and the distribution of its licensed brands for accessories, footwear, furniture and other products. Oxford Industries also holds the exclusive licenses to manufacture and sell certain product categories under labels like Nautica, Tommy Hilfiger, Geoffrey Beene, Slates, Cubavera, Havanera, Evisu, Dockers and Oscar de la Renta.

Oxford Industries distributes its products through whole sale customers including chain stores, department stores, specialty, stores, specialty catalogues, and mass merchants besides retail outlets. Till the end of December 2006, the company operated 59 retail stores. Its sales offices are located in many important cities all over the world. The headquarters of Oxford Industries are located at Atlanta in the American state of Georgia.

Oxford Industries was founded in the year 1942 by three brothers, Hicks, Sartain and Thomas who acquired an interest in an Atlanta-based merchandiser of mens sportswear and slacks. As of June 2005, the company employed around 6800 people at all its locations. J.Hicks Lanier is the present CEO of the company and till May 2007, the Corporate Governance Quotient of the company was better than 46% of the S&P 600 Companies and 74.4% of the consumer durables and apparel companies.
