Natl Coop Refinery Assn Inter Regional Petroleum Co Operative

The Natl Coop Refinery Assn is an inter-regional petroleum co-operative owned by three regional farm supply co-operatives in the north central United States. The three member owners are CHS Inc, Growmark and MFA Oil Company. The National Co-operative Refinery Association supplies fuel to the farms of Mid West America.

The CHS Inc is a Fortune 500 Company which is one of the major suppliers of food, grain and energy products in the United States. Besides having North Americas largest crop input partnership, it also owns one of the fastest growing convenience store and chains and is a leading grain export business. As a member owner of Natl Coop Refinery Assn, CHS Foundation encourages all programs that invest in the future of co-operatives, agriculture and rural America.

Growmark, another member owner of Natl Coop Refinery Assn, is a federated agricultural co-operative network which looks after the interests of farmers in Midwest and Northeast America. It has ownership interests in suppliers of raw materials, manufacturing and services needed by many regional organizations. The major subsidiaries of Growmark include MIDCO Commodities which looks after the companys risk management services and offers market information, options and advice to the farmers and elevators of Midwest America

Other subsidiaries of Growmark are Growmark FS LLC that provides fertilizer, seeds and crop protection services to the farmers in Northeast America and Seedway LLC that markets farm and turf seed in Northeast and mid-American states and commercial vegetable seed throughout the eastern half of the US. Growmark has joined other regional co-operatives to own the Natl Coop Refinery Assn in order to ensure the reliable supply of energy products to the farmers of Mid-west United States.

MFA Oil is another farmer-owned co-operative that has been supplying superior quality products and services ever since 1929. The company and its various subsidiaries supply oil, propane, different types of refined fuel and lubricants. Other than these MFA also owns Big O Tires which is one of the largest tire and auto service providers of the US, Jiffy Lube which runs a series of car servicing centers and Break Time, a chain of 76 convenience stores in Missouri and Arkansas. In 1965, MFA Oil joined five other farmer co-operatives in the ownership and operation of Natl Coop Refinery Assn.

The Natl Coop Refinery Assn supplies petroleum products and has storage, refining, production and distribution capabilities throughout the greater part of the United Sates. It oversees a wide spectrum of responsibilities, ranging from its refinery in McPherson which has the ability to process 85000 barrels of oil per day to over 60 trucks and 1000 miles of pipelines transporting crude oil and finished products to far flung tanks and terminals.
